Required texts for the course can be placed on Library Reserve. The Course Head or the Head TF should use the Library Reserves tool in Canvas to request that books be put on reserve.
Although reserves requests will be accepted throughout the term, turning in your lists well in advance ensures that materials will be ready at the beginning of the term. Reserves requests can be submitted as follows:
- Fall semester — beginning July 24
- Spring semester — November 15
Where reserves are held for your course will depend on the course content and your Course Head’s department. The following libraries participate in the reserves program: Cabot, Fine Arts, Harvard-Yenching, Lamont, Loeb Music, and Tozzer.
Timely submission of library reserve requests makes it more likely that reserve readings will be available at the beginning of the term. The libraries determine the appropriate number of reserve copies based on the projected course enrollment, but may need guidance regarding which texts or media (e.g., DVDs) are particularly important and may be subject to high demand.
